Droplet - Meeting #1

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to prepare for our first meeting of the year!  We had 26 moms, 1 mentor, and 1 interim-mentor!  Of those 26 moms, 6 of them are BRAND NEW to our group! Welcome ladies, we look forward to getting to know you and your families more throughout the year.

Here are a few pictures I snapped of setup the day before and the day of the meeting.  (Anyone interested in being photographer for our group to get pictures at the meetings and special events?)

 We setup on Thursday afternoon, we welcome any moms that want to come help move tables/chairs.

 

We have 4 tables right now, but they are maxed out.  We will hopefully be adding a 5th for the next meeting.  Anyone interested in being a Table Leader contact Michelle Straub.

 

The next 2 photos are of the Creative Activities area where moms chose a denim "koozie" to decorate with their name using fabric markers.  It will then be used on our reusable "cups" which are mason jars this year.

We don't just do crafts, Creative Activities also involves learning skills, this time it was sewing on a button for the closure (that was an elastic hair tie).

Next meeting is Friday, Sept. 21st - be there by 9:00 am for the on time drawing! 2 winners every meeting!  Prizes will change each time also.

We Kickoff our new year of MOPS in less than 32 hours!  Have you sent your RSVP?  Email invites went out today look for it from "no-reply@mops.org" in your spam folder if not in your inbox!

This is Coordinator, Michelle Straub.  I want to welcome you to the Brownsville MOPS page.  If you have arrived here by scanning the QR Code...yay! It worked!  If you would like more details about one of the crafts you saw at National Convention please leave a comment with which craft and an email to contact you with.

We will be posting information when we return home about the inspiration behind them and any adjustments we made to making them in a group atmosphere.

Pumpkin Patch Playdate

MOPS Pumpkin Patch Playdate 2010

Come meet us at the Pumpkin Patch!  We'll be meeting at First United Methodist Church, on Boca Chica Blvd, at 10 am on Thursday, October 27th.  Bring your children dressed up in their costume for some great photos!  You'll be able to purchase pumpkins to take home.  A story or 2 will be provided.


If you'd like to pack a lunch and meet up at a park after that would be great.
